Science Communication Initiative

Bridging science and public engagement

The Science Communication Initiative is an interdisciplinary collection of scholars and practitioners working to optimize the impact and public value of science at Arizona State University and beyond.

Spanning the Academic, Knowledge, and Learning Enterprises, we aim to improve science communication in contexts such as organizational communication, public engagement, policy making, and physician-patient interactions.

We believe these goals can only be accomplished through a holistic approach that includes research, curriculum development, and community partnerships.

Build skills that connect science and society

Effective science communication takes more than explaining complex ideas. It requires understanding audiences, building trust and creating meaningful engagement. Watch the video to learn how ASU’s undergraduate minor and graduate certificate in science communication can help students across disciplines develop practical skills for connecting science with the people and communities it affects.
