About the program

TRIO Upward Bound is a federally-funded college access and success program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education. Our mission is to support, guide, and empower Glendale’s first-generation, income-eligible young adults as they strive for successful high school completion, post-secondary enrollment and graduation, and life-affirming, difference-making careers and futures.

Eligibility

This program is designed specifically for high school students in the West Valley. Students must meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled student at Independence High School, Cortez High School, Glendale High School, or Washington High School
  • First-generation student
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Income-eligible
