Course Load Information
Students in the online MA in Social Technologies program will be required to take six to nine credit hours in each semester based on their admit term and will be able to finish the program in 18 months.
To view the required course sequence for you, please select the semester and year that you were admitted. Use the tabs at the top of the page to select the semester for which you are trying to register.

This is a 100% online program that requires 33 credit hours of coursework, including STC 570: Social Data Projects.

As a graduate student it is your responsibility to review and follow the required course sequence the academic unit lays out for the students. If a student does not follow these requirements it may delay time to degree completion.
To be eligible for the culminating experience, students must meet the following requirements:
Up to date Plan of Study (iPOS) on file.
Graduate GPA, Cumulative GPA, iPOS GPA must all be at 3.00.
All STC core and other required courses MUST be completed prior to an enrollment override to the culminating experience.
Students will be taking STC 570 in their final semester.
Students will want to file their plan of study before the 50% mark of program completion. Students are encouraged to file sooner, if they have a program sequence that they are following. A guide to assist students in filing and submitting their plan of study is available here. For your faculty committee, please ensure that you list Alexander Halavais as your chair. The staff advisor section can be left as is.
