Professional Development Funding Application

Professional Development Funding will provide financial assistance to eligible graduate students enrolled in the Masters of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (MAIS) program. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the fund is exhausted. All applications must have faculty mentor support. In the rare cases when it may be appropriate to apply before a mentor has been approved, Program Director support can be used in place of mentor recommendation.

The reward amount is up to $400.00, and is not renewable. To be eligible, a student must meet one of the following:

  • Present at a graduate student conference (or a fully-fledged conference, if applicable)
  • Field work
  • Archival work

To be eligible for up to $250 in rewards, a student must be eligible for one of the following:

  • Attending a flagship conference in the relevant area without presenting
  • Acquisition of materials: audio, visual, or print materials that are unavailable in the Phoenix area and cannot be used through ILL (works that are critical to a capstone project and thus needed for more than a month)

Cost of attending performances that are critical to a capstone project.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. If there is funding still available after April 15th, all MAIS students will be invited to reapply.
