OPENING NIGHT: grow - a sound installation by Barry Moon

Join us for the opening of Barry Moon's new installation "grow" in ArtSpace West.

"grow" is a sound installation where plants determine what sounds are produced and various parameters of sound production are controlled by light sensors. By choosing to cover sensors with their leaves, plants can control the sound. Although research has demonstrated that sound can be beneficial or detrimental to a plant’s wellbeing, there has been no attempt to allow plants to demonstrate preferences for particular types of sound. We invite you to experience the installation and meet our faculty-artist at a reception to celebrate this opening.

The installation continues through Jan. 27, and ArtSpace West is open Mondays throughThursdays from 12–5 p.m.
