The program in Social and Behavioral Sciences provides students a substantive understanding of the theoretical assumptions and methodological techniques underlying the behavioral sciences. The degree is offered with an emphasis either in Behavioral Sciences (IBS) or Social Sciences (ISS). The IBS degree provides students with knowledge about the biological and/or social principles related to the behavior of individuals across multiple social contexts and institutions (family, community, society, and culture). The ISS degree provides students with a core curriculum and electives chosen among three course clusters: Identity/Difference, Power/Knowledge and Local/Global.
