If you are a current MAIS student and have questions please contact your Program Advisor, Tosha Ruggles at Tosha.Smith@asu.edu or 602.543.6241. If you have questions regarding your academic work, course choices, or capstone, please contact your faculty advisor.
To help track your progress in the program you can download an MAIS program advising check sheet (PDF Format)
All MAIS graduate students are expected to adhere to the MAIS standards of Satisfactory Progress. Students are responsible for knowing and understanding this information and how it pertains to them. Download: Standards Satisfactory Progress (PDF Format)
In order to facilitate degree completion and shorten time to degree, graduate students with regular status must file their Plan of Study (POS) by the time they complete 50 percent of the hours required toward their degree program. The Plan of Study specifies the expected requirements that students must complete for their degree and can be completed and advised electronically.
If you need help with filing your iPOS please download this training PowerPoint (PDF format).
Access or file your iPOS here. After you submit your iPOS please print out a copy and obtain the signatures of your MAIS committee and deliver the signed iPOS to Tosha Smith in FAB 301H. Your iPOS must then be approved by the Program Director and the Graduate College. Your Program of Study is not complete until the Graduate College has approved it.
Students are eligible to register for the capstone if they meet all the following criteria:
No student will be allowed to register for the Capstone Course (MAS 585) until an approved capstone proposal is on file. No exceptions to this policy will be made. Please allow enough time for your proposal to be approved and revised as necessary. Download Capstone Proposal Form. If you do not meet registration deadlines you will be required to register for 1 credit hour of Continuing Registration (MAS 595) until your Capstone Proposal is approved. View the Academic Calendar and review registration dates.
Advanced students in the MAIS program with specialized and well developed topics can choose to take either MAS 590: Reading and Conference or MAS 592: Research as an individualized instruction course that they work with a faculty member independently. In order to register for either MAS 590 or MAS 592 students must download and complete the individualized instruction form, obtain the necessary signatures, and submit it to Tosha Ruggles in FAB 301H. Download the Application for Individualized Instruction Form (PDF format).
