Capstone Project
MAS 585 (3-4 credit hours)
Eligibility: Students are eligible to register for the capstone if they meet all of the following criteria:
- Entering last semester of study or completed minimum of 24 MAIS credit hours
- Good academic standing, as defined by the MAIS Standards of Satisfactory Progress
- Approved POS on file with the MAIS and Graduate Studies Offices
- Approved capstone proposal (signatures of two supervising MAIS faculty and the program Director)
Registering: Once the capstone proposal is approved, the Administrative Assistant for the program will issue the schedule line number (SLN) to the student. If the capstone is not completed during the semester of registration, the student must enroll in 1 credit hour of Continuing Registration (MAS 595) during the semester of graduation unless registered for other ASU coursework.
Graduating: Students who have met all academic requirements for the degree are eligible for graduation. The degree cannot be awarded, however, until the student submits a clean, final copy of the capstone project and a completed "Application for Final Master's Written Examination" form to the MAIS Office. In addition, the student's POS must reflect the coursework taken for the degree. Any discrepancies between the POS and transcript must be reconciled before applying for graduation.
