The Bachelor of Arts in English consists of 45 credit hours, of which 18 must be upper division. 12 credit hours must be taken in residence at ASU, any campus. A grade of “C” or higher is required in all courses taken for the major. One of the upper-division courses in the major must carry a General Studies Literacy and Critical Inquiry “L.”

Additional courses needed to complete the 45 hours are electives chosen from English offerings at the 200 level or above (up to 2 non-ENG courses closely related to English may be used with prior advisor approval).
