Many students go on to pursue careers in all areas of public service from government to foundation work. Our students are also prepared to enter the workforce in education, journalism and museum work. Because of the considerable amount of time spent on teaching you to think and write critically and conduct exhaustive research, you will find that the business community is also an arena where you can find success. This program also serves as excellent preparation for law school and for graduate programs in fields such as American studies, English, journalism, history and art history. It is ideally suited to careers in which research, analysis and planning play a central role. Internships are encouraged and will allow you to explore some of these exciting career options while assisting you with your education.
