Mr. Weldehaimanot received the TMF Human Rights Fellowship at Columbia University, and worked as a legal officer for the Institute for Human Rights and Development in Africa (in Banjul, the Gambia) and the International Centre for Transitional Justice (in New York). He has filed a complaint before the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights (Communication 349/07 Simon Weldehaimanot v Eritrea).

Professor Haarr is committed to researching and promoting women’s and children’s rights throughout Asia and the former Soviet Union. Dr. Haarr has worked in Laos, Tajikistan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, and many other Asian countries. She has been a consultant to UNICEF, ILO, OSCE, and SDC and has been a speaker for several U.S. Embassies. In 2006, Dr. Haarr was awarded the CoraMae Richey Mann “Inconvenient Woman of the Year” Award by the Division on Women & Crime of the American Society of Criminology and she has been recognized for her work by the Kentucky Senate.
The Right to Food in South Africa: Giving Substance to Socioeconomic Rights

Professor Holness is an Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with a focus on public law especially public interest litigation and legal awareness. He has traveled throughout the rural Eastern Cape province to assist community based paralegal offices on the needs of indigent clients. Professor Holness has also published on the realization of socio-economic rights; with a focus on the Constitutional right to food.
