American Studies courses offer students the opportunity to pursue an interest in the interdisciplinary study of American culture, history, politics, and identity. This interdisciplinary American Studies minor is particularly appropriate for students majoring in one of the humanities or social sciences disciplines.
Students wishing to pursue the American Studies minor should consult an academic advisor in the unit offering that minor to ensure that the appropriate set of American Studies courses is taken, to sign the minor check sheet, and to have the minor added to their program of study. The student should also consult with an academic advisor in the college or department of his or her major to make sure the college or department of the major recognizes the minor.
Students from western states who select this major may be eligible for a reduced nonresident tuition rate of 150 percent of Arizona resident tuition plus all applicable fees.
See more information and eligibility requirements on the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) program web site.
