Women & Gender Studies Program

Bachelor of Arts Program Description

The B.A. in women and gender studies, within the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences, is an interdisciplinary program emphasizing intersectional approaches to the study of gender, race, class, ethnicity and sexuality in national and transnational contexts. Consistent with the university's design imperatives of social embeddedness and use-inspired research, women's studies, through its course offerings, research initiatives and co-curricular programs, seeks to further the understanding of women and gender, and to promote social justice.

Students from western states who select this major may be eligible for a reduced nonresident tuition rate of 150 percent of Arizona resident tuition plus all applicable fees. See more information and eligibility requirements on the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) program Web site.
