Interested students should schedule an appointment with Linda Persau, America Reads/Counts Internship Coordinator to submit an application and discuss individual school site placements. She can be reached at 602-543-6001 or by e-mail: Linda.Persau@asu.edu.
The Line Number for IAS 484/America Reads is published online; however, students need to be cleared by the Coordinator before they can register. This is done when a written application is on file and after the student has met with the Coordinator.
Internships of more than 3 credits require special approval by the Coordinator. In the case of AmericaReads/Counts, new tutors are restricted to 3 credits the first time they participate in the program. Continuing Tutors may enroll for up to 6 credits.
As Payroll procedures are currently changing, you will need to stay in touch with the Coordinator to make sure you have completed all the necessary paperwork with Human Resources on the West Campus in order to be included in payroll processing.
