*NEW* Ed & Judy Lynn Scholarship

To be considered for this scholarship, you must be admitted in the New College Masters of Arts in Communication Studies (MACS) program by April 15, 2013. Please submit a separate application form (Ed and Judy Lynn Scholarship Application Form) to PO Box 37100 MC 1251 Phoenix AZ 85069-4908 or fax to 602-543-4565. Deadline: April 15, 2013. Visit http://newcollege.asu.edu/graduate/degrees/comm_studies_ma/financialaid for additional information.

The Ed and Judy Lynn Scholarship will provide financial assistance to a deserving graduate student enrolled in the Masters of Arts in Communication Studies (MACS) program.  Lynn Scholars should embrace the values of Ed Lynn, which include a lifelong ethic of hard work, leadership, personal accountability, and a commitment to helping others develop their potential.  In addition, they will show evidence of academic excellence, persistence, and a strong likelihood of success in the MACS program.

  • The first priority of the scholarship is to support students who have established a promising academic record as undergraduates in the communication program at ASU’s West campus and now seek admission to the MACs program.  If the pool of these students proves insufficient in any given year, the scholarship may be awarded to another deserving MACS student (with approval of the donor).
  • Recipients of the scholarship must demonstrate that they are personally covering a portion of the costs of attendance – that they have some “skin in the game”.   Recipients should demonstrate that they have financial need.
  • Lynn Scholars are engaged academic leaders. They are expected to work closely with a MACS faculty mentor on projects related to teaching, research, or community service.  This commitment normally involves roughly ten hours of engagement per week during the spring and fall semesters.
