The College Graduation Experience at ASU includes: Graduate Commencement, Undergraduate Commencement and the New College Convocation ceremony.
Graduate Commencement
The official University Graduation Ceremony in which ASU President Michael Crow will confer degrees upon all graduate Students. College graduate commencement will be held at Wells Fargo Arena, Tempe.
Undergraduate Commencement
The Official University ceremony at which ASU President Michael Crow will confer degrees upon all undergraduate students. Undergraduate commencement will be held in Sun Devil Stadium, Tempe.
New College Convocation
Held on the West campus Fletcher Library lawn, Convocation is a celebratory ceremony in which students will be individually recognized by Vice Provost and Dean Elizabeth Langland and the Division director for their educational achievements.

All candidates are required to wear an official ASU cap and gown.
These are available at the ASU bookstore (602) 543-6800. - All graduates will need to check in one hour before the ceremony begins

TICKETS ARE FREE, BUT REQUIRED TO RIDE THE MOTOR COACHES
Motor coach will leave the West campus at 5:45 p.m.
West campus has chartered motor coaches to transport students and members of their family to and from Commencement in Tempe for the Undergraduate Ceremony on Thursday, May 3, 2012. This service is free, but you must....

9:00 a.m New College Graduate Studies Hooding Ceremony: Check in and Ceremony in Kiva Lecture Hall
- New College Graduate Studies Students are invited to a Hooding ceremony and reception prior to the Convocation ceremony, 9:00-10:15 a.m. May 3, 2012. Celebrate your accomplishments with Faculty and students. RSVP to Jan Lacey, at jlacey@asu.edu by April 25, 2012.
9:30 a.m. New College Undergraduates check in at La Sala in the UCB
10:30 a.m. Grand Processional with all New College Graduates begins at the Paley Gates,
- Convocation ceremony on Fletcher Library Lawn
- Reception immediately following the ceremony will be held in the courtyard between the FAB and UCB buildings where you may meet with your family and faculty for pictures and enjoy some light refreshments.
- Wheelchair seating is limited and will be seated on a first come first serve basis. Following ADA guidelines seating will provide one fixed seat per wheelchair.
- In the case of inclement weather, the ceremony will proceed as planned. Please dress and prepare accordingly.
- Ceremony will be held outside on the Fletcher Lawn rain or shine.
- Ceremony is approximately one hour. No tickets are required, carpooling is recommended.

College Graduate’s To Do List:
- Apply for Graduation with the Registrar's office by February 15, 2012.
- RSVP Online at MyASU for your Commencement Ceremony and the New College Convocation. (After Oct. 3, or when you receive the link in your My ASU)
- Attend Grad Fair at the ASU Bookstore, Thursday, April 12 - 10am - 6pm & Friday, April 13, 10am - 3pm.
- Purchase your cap and gown at the Bookstore. Eligible undergraduates who have not received their honor cords can pick them up at the Registrar’s Office.
- Photos will be taken during the ceremony.
- Don’t forget to provide your guests with parking information and ceremony times and location. See the convocation website for this information and any other updates. If you or your guest(s) will require disability accommodations, please contact 602 543-4521 by Friday, April 27, 2012.
