Summer Bridge Program Eligibility

Welcome all West Campus Majors:

Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Scheduled to graduate from high school in Spring 2008
  • Admitted to ASU as a full time, first-semester freshman for Fall 2008 in one of the following colleges:
    • College of Teacher Education & Leadership
    • College of Human Services
    • New College of Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences
    • School of Global Management & Leadership
    • University College
  • Filed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with the ASU Office of Student Financial Assistance. (This can be done online at http://students.asu.edu/financial-aid). MUST BE COMPLETED BY APRIL 1st.
  • Submitted a complete Summer Bridge Application

Please note: April 4, 2008 is the priority deadline for Summer Bridge applications.

Strong consideration will be given to eligible applicants who also meet at least ONE of the following criteria:

  • First-generation college student. This means that in your family, neither of your parents has graduated from a four-year college or university.
  • Demonstrated high financial need. The ASU Office of Student Financial Assistance will determine your level of financial need based on your FAFSA.
  • Academically “at-risk” student. This is a student who is motivated to be successful in college, but may not have performed up to his/her potential in high school.
  • Recipient of a scholarship offered by a Summer Bridge partner. Recent examples have included: Doran Community Scholars, Dorrance Foundation Scholars, Gateway/TRIO, Intercollegiate Athletics, Advantage ASU, and YMCA I-Learn.

Eligible students will be selected for Summer Bridge based on meeting the above criteria and their potential to benefit from the experience.
