New College Annual Report: Stories From Our Community - Collage
We are celebrating a new era in the life of this college.
Last year, the Arizona Board of Regents approved our faculty's request to change our name from the College of Arts and Sciences to the New College of Interdiscipinary Arts and Sciences, a name that better represents both our longstanding mission and our vision of what we have become. We are a "New College" because we are seeking new knowledge, while embracing integrative and innovative ways of organizing and sharing that knowledge.
Most college and universtiy faculty know that lif isn't divided into neat compartments and that the world's major questions and issues demand responses that integrate expertise rom a wide array of fields and disciplines. Yet, few colleges have moved beyond tradiontional organizational structures in ways that adapt to the demands and complexiities of our modern-day lives. The New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences is doing just that.
